The easiest and safest way of removing old antifouling is to use the services of a professional antifouling paint remover who will quickly, safely and carefully remove old antifouling paint leaving the underlying primers unharmed and fully intact.

The use of many chemical type paint strippers is possible but care requires to be taken when using them on GRP type surface as they may react with the surface affecting its integrity. Such chemicals may also lead to the underlying primers being affected.

If using them follow the supplied instructions very carefully.

Paint scrapers and wet sanding with coarse grit paper can also be used.
